Assessment and Certification Board

The RMA Assessment & Certification Board is vital to our certification programs, serving as the connection between our staff and credential holders. The members act with integrity and professionalism in advisory board duties; advocate for RMA; monitor, revise and approve RMA Certification policies and procedures manual and related controlled documents; approve eligibility criteria, certification scope, examinations, examination scaled cut points, item performance standards, and other essential certification decisions; and assure the independence of certifications from conflicting interests, including but not limited to training, education accreditation, etc. They also help to promote the privacy and data protection profession by ensuring that RMA’s certification programs meet global standards and help increase the value of RMA credentials in the marketplace.  Board members accomplish their functions through regular face-to-face or virtual board meetings / dialogue and by establishing an appropriately sized committee structure.  Members are professionals in the multi-disciplines of risk management, governance  and compliance, recognized for their practical experience and education, obtained through academic institutions and continuing education programs.
